The Star My - Raising RM1mil to help poor get hydrogen therapy

29 Jun 2019

Compassionate Care Foundation (CCF) has pledged to raise RM1mil to help 200 underprivileged suffering chronic pain and other health conditions through hydrogen therapy.

CCF will be providing treatment for the poor with the support of its core partner, IRCare Sdn Bhd.

Beneficiaries will receive hydrogen therapy to alleviate kidney and liver problems, osteoarthritis, diabetes and other skin conditions.

CCF co-founder and board director Daena Chan said it had always been their aim to help the poor experience molecular hydrogen therapy through free and subsidised sessions.

“Since the launch of the first phase of our Love.Hope.Health campaign last July, we have helped 22 people suffering from chronic pain.

“After seeing the effect on our beneficiaries, it has reinforced my commitment to expand our outreach to provide the treatment to those who cannot afford to pay for the service.

“As an NGO, we cannot do this alone and need support from corporations and the community,” she said at a press conference at The Starling mall in Petaling Jaya.

Through the upcoming fundraising gala dinner in November, Chan said they hope to raise RM1mil to help at least 200 people.

“We want to bring about a long-term positive impact on their health,” she added.

One of the beneficiaries was 76-year-old CS Shia, an osteoarthritis patient who was housebound and had to hold onto furniture to move around.

“I sought Chinese and Western medical treatment but it did not help.

“After reading about the benefits of hydrogen therapy, I decided to give it a try although I was sceptical at first.

“After several sessions, I can now walk faster and climb stairs without assistance or pain,” he said.

In his speech, CCF adviser Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye said the public as well as corporations should support organisations like CCF to help the poor receive hydrogen therapy treatment.

“As CCF adviser, I am committed to helping the foundation fulfil its objective of helping marginalised Malaysians who have chronic pain.”

Hi-Bliss brand partner Kate Tsui Tsz-shan said she would donate her personal jewellery collection for the CCF fundraiser.

“I support drug-free treatments which will benefit the underprivileged,” she said.
