What is Atopic Dermatitis (Eczema)?

The term atopic is from the Greek meaning “strange” whereas the term dermatitis means inflammation of the skin. Atopic Dermatitis (AD) is a chronic skin condition that is characterised by red, dry and itchy skin. Atopic Dermatitis is long lasting (chronic) and tends to flare periodically. It is the most common form of eczema and commonly occurs on the face (cheek), neck, arms and legs (groin and axillary regions).
What causes Atopic Dermatitis (Eczema)?
While the exact cause of atopic dermatitis is unknown, evidence suggests that it involves an overactive immune system that causes inflammation within the body. Atopic Dermatitis also usually exists alongside two other allergic conditions, which are asthma and hay fever (allergic rhinitis). Though Emotional factors and Stress are not the underlying cause of the condition, they may sometimes exacerbate the condition. Other known triggers for atopic dermatitis include exposure to allergens such as pollen, pet dander or peanuts, or infection. Skin irritants such as some fabrics, soaps and household detergents may also trigger an atopic dermatitis flare.

Our Proven Unique Approach
Hi-Bliss Hydrogen Therapy
Inflammation is the key cause of Atopic Dermatitis. Hydrogen, a powerful anti-inflammatory agent, is able to suppress the production of inflammatory cytokines in the affected area as well as the inflammation in the body. When inflammation is reduced, the symptoms of Atopic Dermatitis such as redness, dryness and itchiness of the skin will be reduced which subsequently minimizes pain and swelling.
Hydrogen, a potent antioxidant, not only helps to reduce inflammation, but is also able to protect our cells and restore organ function. This is vital for Atopic Dermatitis clients whose organs may be affected. Hydrogen is also able to stabilize the overactive immune system as a result of Atopic Dermatitis by selectively neutralising excessive toxic free radicals in the body that trigger an unnecessary response from the immune system. When the number of free radicals is reduced, the immune system becomes more stable which in turn reduces the risks of an allergic reaction occurring, hence reducing Atopic Dermatitis flare ups.

Hydrogen Patch
Before starting the Hydrogen Therapy, patch(s) infused with Hydrogen Water will be applied onto the Client’s affected skin areas. As Hydrogen is the smallest molecule in existence, it permeates into the skin easily, thus keeping the skin moisturized from the outside. In addition, with its anti-inflammatory property, it is able to bring down the inflammation of the skin from the surface, thus reducing the itchiness and providing immediate relief from the irritation.
Usually recommended in combination with our Detoxification Therapy, bringing you a comprehensive program to treat skin problems – internally and externally.
